Saudi Report: Israel Strikes Turkish Missiles in Homs, Warns Syria

On September 9, 2025, Saudi channel Al-Hadath reported that an Israeli airstrike hit a warehouse in Homs, Syria, storing Turkish-made missiles and air-defense equipment recently transferred there. The attack, part of Israel’s efforts to curb threats from the new Syrian regime under Ahmad al-Sharaa, targeted sites in Al-Qusayr.

An Israeli security official, quoted in the report, emphasized ongoing talks with Syria on security arrangements, stating Israel will use force when needed. “Syria is trying to evade agreements due to external pressure. We assisted the Druze in As-Suwayda for the sake of the Druze in Israel and did not commit to anything. The internal situation in Syria is very fragile, and we are concerned for our security. We insist on the demilitarization of southern Syria. We will strike at any threat, regardless of its nature or location.”

The official added: “What the Al Shara’a regime does not understand at the negotiating table, it will understand through force. Turkey is trying to provoke us and drag us into a military confrontation. If necessary, we will launch a major military operation in Syria. We are not afraid of Turkey, but we do not seek confrontation.”

This strike highlights Israel’s determination to maintain security amid Syria’s fragile transition and Turkish involvement.
