Trump Warns Hamas Over Hostage Human Shields in Gaza

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to address a disturbing report that Hamas has moved hostages above ground in Gaza to use them as human shields against Israel’s ongoing ground offensive. In a strongly worded post, Trump stated, “I just read a report that Hamas moved the hostages above ground to use them as human shields against Israel’s ground attack. I hope Hamas leaders know what they are getting themselves into if they do such a thing. This is a human horror, few people have seen the likes of in the past. Don’t let this happen – otherwise, all the ‘bets’ are off. Release all the hostages now!”

The remarks come amid escalating violence in Gaza, where Israel’s military has intensified operations following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack that killed 1,200 and took 251 hostages, 48 of whom remain captive. Trump’s warning suggests potential U.S. retaliation if the hostages are endangered, though he provided no specifics on the report’s source. Israeli officials have not confirmed the claim but have long accused Hamas of using civilians as shields. The international community, including mediators in Qatar, is urging de-escalation as the crisis deepens.
