Pro-Palestinian Mob Storms Milan Train Station Amid Nationwide Strikes and Protests

Milan, Italy – On September 22, 2025, a massive pro-Palestinian mob stormed Milan’s central train station, clashing with police and vandalizing businesses, marking a violent escalation in a day of nationwide strikes and protests across Italy. The riots, captured in footage showing demonstrators in black attire wielding batons and smashing windows, capped a broader movement pushed by trade unions and far-left groups in response to what organizers labeled the “continuing genocide in Gaza.” The strike, part of a “Let’s Block Everything” campaign, saw tens of thousands march in Rome and disruptions at ports in Genoa, Livorno, and Trieste, as reported by Reuters.

In Milan, the violence erupted as protesters, some waving Palestinian flags, attempted to occupy the station, leading to a fierce standoff with riot police. Over 10 arrests were made, and around 60 officers sustained injuries, according to Italy’s ANSA news agency. The clashes followed a morning of school closures and transport disruptions, with the strike’s organizers demanding an end to arms shipments to Israel and solidarity with Palestinians amid over 41,000 deaths in Gaza since October 2023. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the scenes, calling them a “disgrace” to Italy’s democracy.
