Blida, Lebanon – On October 30, 2025, Israeli troops briefly crossed into Lebanese territory shortly after midnight, advancing about one kilometer toward the municipal building in Blida, southern Lebanon, according to local sources. The incursion resulted in the death of an employee reportedly sleeping inside the building. After the operation, IDF units withdrew back to Israel.
The IDF provided a different account, stating the raid targeted a Hezbollah-related site, where a militant guarding it was eliminated after posing an immediate threat to Israeli forces. This marks another cross-border action amid fragile ceasefire terms, with Israel enforcing security along the Blue Line to prevent Hezbollah rearmament.
Local Shiite communities in southern Lebanon often describe Hezbollah operatives as “innocent employees,” highlighting the divide in narratives. The incident, the latest in a series of low-intensity clashes, risks escalating tensions despite the November 2024 truce.
