Tel Aviv – In a harrowing interview on Channel 13’s Hazinor program on October 31, 2025, Rom Braslavski, a survivor of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, recounted the unimaginable cruelty he endured during 14 months in captivity. Abducted from the Nova Festival, Braslavski, 40, described his captor’s offer: “If you convert to Islam, we’ll bring you lots of food, you’ll live with us.” He refused, declaring, “I was born a Jew, I’ll die a Jew,” triggering escalating torment.
Braslavski detailed being blindfolded for weeks, allowed bathroom breaks only three times daily, and limited to half a liter of water. A week later, his captor, following a “letter from above,” shoved stones into his ears using nails, causing excruciating pain and lasting hematoma. “I’ve never felt pain like that,” he said. The ordeal continued with tighter blindfolds cutting off blood flow, starvation, and eventual binding for further torture.
Released in June 2025 under Trump’s peace plan, Braslavski’s testimony exposes Hamas’s systematic abuse, including psychological terror and denial of basic needs. “It was a nightmare,” he shared, emphasizing resilience amid horror.
