Al-Baqin, who served as deputy commander of a Nukhba company within Hamas’s Central Jabaliya battalion, was targeted in an August 7 strike in the Jabaliya area.

Al-Baqin played a pivotal role in the abduction of three Israeli soldiers—Ron Sherman, the late Nik Beizer, and Tamir Nimrodi—during the chaotic incursions on October 7.
