IDF Eliminates Top Hamas Terrorist Involved in October 7 Kidnappings of Sherman, Beizer, and Nimrodi

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Shin Bet, announced today the successful elimination of Abdullah Saeed Abd al-Baqin, a senior Hamas commander tied directly to the October 7, 2023 terror attacks. Al-Baqin, who served as deputy commander of a Nukhba company within Hamas’s Central Jabaliya battalion, was targeted in an August 7 strike in the Jabaliya area.

Al-Baqin played a pivotal role in the abduction of three Israeli soldiers—Ron Sherman, the late Nik Beizer, and Tamir Nimrodi—during the chaotic incursions on October 7. While Sherman and Beizer tragically lost their lives, Nimrodi remains in Hamas captivity to this day World Israel News. Beyond that, the IDF accused him of masterminding multiple terrorist plots and numerous attacks on Israeli security forces during the ongoing conflict.

This targeted strike highlights the continued focus and precision of Israel’s campaign to dismantle Hamas’s command infrastructure. Nonetheless, the story remains bittersweet: Nimrodi remains unaccounted for, and the scars of October 7 continue to weigh heavily on the national conscience.

While al-Baqin’s elimination marks a tactical success, the broader fight against terrorism—and the quest to secure the release of all remaining hostages—continues.
