On August 29, 2025, Israel’s Ministry of Defense slammed the British government’s decision to restrict Israeli government and military participation in the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition, set for September 9–12 in London. The Ministry called the move “harmful and shameful,” accusing Britain of targeting Israeli representatives at a time when Israel battles extremist Islamic groups threatening the West and global shipping. As a result, Israel will skip its national pavilion at DSEI, though its defense firms, like Elbit Systems and Rafael, will still attend with full Ministry support. The UK’s ban, tied to Israel’s Gaza operations, reeks of political pandering, legitimizing terrorism and undermining a key defense trade event. This snub risks alienating a vital ally while emboldening extremists.
