President Donald Trump signed an executive order providing formal U.S. security guarantees to the State of Qatar, a move aimed at strengthening ties with the Gulf ally amid regional tensions. The document states, “The United States shall regard any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the State of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States.” It affirms that Washington will respond to aggression with diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military measures.
