Gaza – On October 19, 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted an airstrike in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, targeting terrorists who crossed the “Yellow Line” and posed an immediate threat to Israeli troops. The Yellow Line, a boundary established under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement led by President Donald Trump, marks Israel’s partial withdrawal zone in Gaza. The IDF reported that the terrorists, identified as Hamas operatives, approached forces with hostile intent, violating the ceasefire terms.
According to an IDF statement, Air Force aircraft were deployed to neutralize the threat, with strikes aimed at minimizing civilian harm. The operation followed recent Hamas attacks, including internal violence against Gazan civilians, as reported by U.S. intelligence. Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz reiterated that any breach of the Yellow Line would be met with force, as per the ceasefire’s enforcement protocols.
The incident, the second reported violation this week, threatens the fragile peace process, which includes hostage releases and Gaza reconstruction. Mediators from Qatar and Egypt urged de-escalation, while Hamas denied involvement, claiming the operatives acted independently.
