Gaza – On October 22, 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) commenced the placement of concrete blocks to delineate the “Yellow Line” in Gaza, a boundary established under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The line marks Israel’s partial withdrawal, with blocks serving as physical barriers to enforce the agreement and deter violations. Defense Minister Israel Katz directed the deployment, stating it ensures compliance while minimizing civilian harm.
The installation, starting in Beit Lahia, aims to prevent Hamas incursions, following recent attacks on IDF soldiers. Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, as mediators, support the measures, but Hamas has condemned them as “provocative.” The blocks, 2 meters high, will span key areas, symbolizing the ceasefire’s fragility.
