Iran Warns Gulf Hotels: Housing U.S. Troops Will Make You Legitimate Military Targets

Tehran – March 2026 Fars News Agency, closely affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that the Islamic Republic has issued a direct warning to hoteliers across the Gulf region: do not accommodate American military personnel, or your hotels will be considered legitimate military targets and subject to attack.

The threat specifically targets hotels in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, two key hosts of U.S. military bases and personnel. According to the report, Iranian authorities have informed hotel operators that providing rooms to U.S. troops endangers the lives of other guests and staff, and such facilities could be struck.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reinforced the message on X (formerly Twitter), urging Gulf countries not to offer accommodation to American soldiers “to prevent endangering the lives of hotel guests.”
